Abstract
Canon Hongkong (CHK) is committed to contribute for social causes. Thus, CHK supported Sham Shui Po District Fire Safety Carnival cum Cheung Sha Wan Fire Station Open Day which aims to enhance the public awareness of fire safety, in particular during dry season. During the event, an exhibition promoting fire safety, fire drill demonstrations, a display of fire engine and equipment, lion dance and game booths are provided on site to give the general public an educational as well as an enjoyable weekend.

Abstract
Canon Hongkong (CHK) is devoted to promote and celebrate the vivid multicultural dynamism in Hong Kong. CHK therefore supported Japan Festival 2008 organized by the Hongkong Japanese Club for the second year. Japan Festival 2008 not only attempted to invite Hong Kong people to have a taste of traditional Japanese village festival spirit and attractions, but also keen to promote an environmental message by its sub-theme ‘Green Hong Kong’ this year.

Abstract
Canon Hongkong (CHK) is endeavored to promote environmental protection for the well-being of the nature. Thus, CHK supported Walk for Nature @ Mai Po 2008 organized by WWF Hong Kong for the fifth consecutive year. With the theme of 'Sustainable Living' this year, CHK staff learnt about their ecological footprints and tips on how to live a sustainable lifestyle through this annual walkathon. Funds raised from the walk will be used to support the vital conservation and education work of WWF Hong Kong.

On 25 October, CHK staff supported Race to Feed 2008 organized by Heifer International – Hong Kong (HHK) by participating in an eleven-legged race. This meaningful event not only raises funds for 'Sichuan Earthquake Rehabilitation Project' to rebuild the lives of the affected families, but also enhances team spirit among CHK staff.

This year's theme is lightening others' lives, CHK staff put on the ORBIS pin to show their care about the blind people around the world.

Canon Hongkong supported Dress Special Day 2008 organized by The Community Chest for the 9th consecutive year. On 30 September, 215 Canon staff participated the campaign and dressed casual to work in order to support the Community Chest in providing community services to the needy in Hong Kong.

Abstract
On September 28, 60 Canon staff participated in the Dolphin Boat Watch Trip organized by WWF Hong Kong. They were excited to gather at Tung Chung Pier to depart for the trip in the morning. The Ship-owner specialized in marine habitats guided participants to the Lung Kwu Chau and Sha Chau coasts to trace the White Dolphins. After searching around, participants finally saw the White Dolphins and they are pleased to take pictures to record the valuable moments. At the same time, participants listened to the detailed instructions provided by WWF’s interpreter. They have gained knowledge of the habits and characteristics of the Chinese White Dolphins and the importance of marine conservation.

Abstract
Canon Hongkong (CHK) sponsored the Foreign Correspondents' Club (FCC) Charity Ball for the 3rd consecutive year. This Charity Ball aims to finance the children's education fund and language classes at Po Leung Kuk in order to give hope to the needy children in Hong Kong. With the theme of "Rock n Roll" this year, Mr. Mick Fleetwood's from Island Rumours Band performed in the charity ball.

Canon Hongkong (CHK) is committed to supporting charitable activities for the well-being of the community. Last year, CHK raised fund for Make-A-Wish Hong Kong by providing instant photo shoot and print services during staging of "Swan Lake on Ice" musical performance. This year, CHK continues its support to Make-A-Wish Hong Kong through participating and supporting "The Wish Challenge Day". CHK teams joined the games with wish children and volunteers in order to raise fund for the benefits of children who are suffering from serious illness.

On July 19, 18 Canon staff participated in Gei Wai Shrimp Cultivation organized by WWF. With detailed introduction by WWF professional interpreter throughout the trip, Canon staff experienced traditional way to farm shrimps. Furthermore, they also learnt more about the wetland environment and livelihood of fishermen when visiting birdwatching hide, mangrove, Gei Wai Museum, etc.
