Course Detail
Part I: Photography is guided by the heart (3 hrs)
-Men and women think differently
From a woman's perspective, a photo should be loaded with her opinions and ideas that can be shared with others. Lifestyle topics will be used for the students to create photo stories.
-Instructors' photo share
The instructors will show the students their quality photos, through which the students will learn the basic concept on digital photography such as the use of lenses and how to choose one that will suit. Tutorials on the use of various camera modes on a camera, composition, focusing, basic knowledge on shutter and aperture, exposure, macro photography, communication with the subject and posing techniques will also be conducted.
Part II: Photography is guided by the heart (practice 3 hrs)
Practicing allows students to try out different tools and techniques. It also helped them master the use of different camera modes to get the results they want.
1) Outdoor practice
-students will be trained to tell a story with a series of photos. The subject could be a doll, a soft toy* or the student herself.
2) Communicating with the subject
-instructions and indications will be given to students while they learn to communicate with the subject in a portrait session
*Students should bring her own soft toys (stationary objects)
Part III: Photos sharing, discussions and photo adjustment (3 hrs)
-students will share the photos they took to see if the photos can bring out effective messages or not
-instructors will demonstrate post production techniques including the adjustment of color temperature, exposure and the application of Picture Style
-A printing demo will also be made

Qualifications for registration:
-applicants should own a Canon EOS DSLR camera (purchased from authorized dealers in Hong Kong or Macau)
-applicants should be at age 16 or above
Rules and conditions:
1. Once registration is confirmed, no refund, cancellation or transfer to other programs is allowed.
2. Absence in class is not a cause for refund.
3. In case of unstable weather condition, outdoor lectures will be rearranged as described below:
If thunderstorm or yellow rain warning is on, or typhoon signal no. 3 is hoisted after 8:00am, the gathering will be canceled. If such warnings are canceled before 8:00am but it is still raining, the gathering will not be canceled and all students have to assemble at the said time and place. If weather condition is still bad upon 10:00am, the assembly will be dissolved and a new assembly time will be assigned to the students at a later date.
4.Any lecture canceled as a result of bad weather conditions will be rearranged to take place on another date. Detail will be specified by Canon Digital School. Anyone who cannot attend the rearranged lecture is not subject to any refund or compensation.
5.Canon Hong Kong Co., Ltd. reserves the right to cancel the course as a result of bad weather, accident or insufficient applicants. Applicants will be notified should there be any rearrangement.
6.If a student disrupts or destructs the smooth running of a lecture, or causes harm to any other participant, Canon Hong Kong Co., Ltd. has the right to immediately disqualify his/her attendance without compensation of any kind.
7. Canon Hong Kong Co., Ltd. reserves the right to change the rules and conditions of the course without prior notice.
Remark: Inexperienced DSLR users are encouraged to take this course. Even though you are not familiar with the actual operation of the digital camera nor are you familiar with digital image files, you are welcome to apply for the course. You are, however, advised to read the instruction manual of your DSLR to understand its buttons and dials beforehand. It will be an advantage if you posses basic computer and software knowledge. All students have to bring their own camera when they attend the course.
