TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY
   
1.

If you return to us a duly completed warranty registration card (for corporate user, please attach a business registration copy) within 14 days from the date of purchase of the product, then the warranty set out in these terms and conditions (the "Warranty") will be valid for the period specified in the front page of this warranty card from the date of purchase of the product (the "Warranty Period") for defects in materials and workmanship. This Warranty is valid only if the date of purchase is confirmed by an authorised dealer's stamp and signature on the warranty registration card

   
2. This Warranty only applies to the product with the model number and serial number written on the warranty card (the "Product").

During the Warranty Period and under normal use, you will be entitled to free repair service of the Product and free replacement of parts (fair wear and tear only), excluding (without limitation) repair and/or replacement and/or cleaning of the following:-

  i) consumables such as ink cartridges, print head cartridges, toner cartridges, drum cartridges and lamps (except that projector lamps will enjoy a 90 days warranty from the date of purchase);
  ii) optional units and accessories such as power cables, external power adapters, interface cables, batteries, video cables, covers, remote control units, scanner cartridges, chargers, memory cards, CCD unit of digital camera and video, LCD unit, LCD display, head drum and viewfinder. (Canon reserves the right to amend the list of consumables, optional units and accessories without prior notice);
  iii) damage resulting from the use of non-genuine Canon consumables or refill substances, inappropriate voltage, the failure to follow operating instructions, accident or other events (such as riots, strikes, fire, flooding and other acts of God) beyond Canon's control;
  iv) compact disk, manual and software;
  v) parts required for installation and commissioning of the Product; and
  vi) hardware and software installation.
   
4. The Warranty shall be automatically cancelled if the Product or any part(s) thereof are modified, tampered with, altered, converted or repaired in anyway by anybody other than our staff or our authorised service providers.
   
5. All replaced components, parts or other units are the property of Canon.
   
6. For products requiring on-site services, you should not relocate the Product to a new address without the prior written permission of Canon. (Remarks: The on-site service is applicable to the product in Hong Kong.)
   
7. In any event, Canon shall not be responsible for any subsequent breakdown of the Product caused by any non-Canon hardware or software related problems after its first installation or due acceptance of the Product, or any damage or malfunction to any products which are connected to the Product.
   
8. Canon is not obliged to maintain or repair any part(s) of the Product if:-
  8.1) the damage is caused by your negligence and misuse of the Product or incurred during transportation of the Product not carried out by Canon; or
  8.2) the Product is not supplied by Canon or its authorised dealers.
   
9. Liability
  9.1) Notwithstanding anything herein contained, Canon shall not be liable to the user or any third party whosoever for any physical or other damage, injury or failure to provide maintenance in respect of any act, omission or negligence of any technician, employee or independent contractor of Canon relating to the performance or purported performance of any obligations under this Warranty.
  9.2) You shall bear the risk and be responsible for all damage, injury or loss (including consequential loss, loss of profit, injury or damage) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the service, delivery, or use of the Product.
  9.3) In any event, Canon's maximum liability hereinunder this Warranty shall be restricted to the replacement value of the Product.
   
10. This Warranty is valid and enforceable in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China ("Hong Kong") and shall not extend to anyone other than the original purchaser of this product. Canon shall be entitled to transfer or assign all its rights and obligations under this Warranty to any company in Hong Kong which is associated with Canon.
   
11. This Warranty is also valid and enforceable in Macau for the first year, but shall not be renewable upon expiration. You are required to deliver the Product to our designated service centers.
   

12.

Canon shall not be responsible or liable for any insurance coverage in relation to the Product and you shall obtain such insurance as you see fit.
   
13. The Warranty expressly provided herein is the sole warranty provided in connection with the Product, and no other warranty, expressed or implied, is provided.
   
14. The terms and conditions of the Warranty are renewable upon expiration subject to payment of a fee determined by Canon (except for customers in Macau), and are subject to change by Canon without prior notice.
   
15. Canon reserves the right to terminate the Warranty in the event of any uncertainty or doubt as to the applicability of these terms and conditions.
   
16. This Warranty shall be construed and governed by the laws of Hong Kong.

Appendix to the Warranty
 

Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance

The information which you have provided to us will be used by Canon in providing services to you in relation to the Warranty, and will at all times be governed by the terms of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance ("the Ordinance"). Please note the following:-

1. The personal data supplied by you will be used for the purpose of
  (i) maintaining our records relating to you and your products, in order that we may provide maintenance, guarantee and other services to you;
  (ii) sending you information relevant to your products and advertising and promotional materials;
  (iii) determining the amounts outstanding from you; and/or
  (iv) any purposes relating thereto.
     
2. Data held by us relating to you will be kept confidential, but we may from time to time provide such information to
  (i) any governmental or statutory authorities,
  (ii) our parent company or any other company forming part of the Canon group, and/or
  (iii) any other person under a duty of confidentiality to us.
 
3. Under and in accordance with the terms of the Ordinance, you have the right to
  (i) check whether we hold data about you and your right of access to such data;
  (ii) require us to correct any data relating to you which is inaccurate;
  (iii) ascertain our policies and practices in relation to data and to be informed of the kind of personal data held by us. In accordance with the terms of the Ordinance, we have a right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request. If you have any requests for access to data or for the correction of data, or if you would like any further information regarding our policies and practices or the kinds of data held by us, kindly address your enquiries to:-

4. Nothing in this Clause shall limit the rights of any person under the Ordinance.
