Canon Hongkong Company Limited (CHK) is glad to be the Diamond Sponsor of the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) Red Twinkle Star Charity Program for the 2nd consecutive year. The program has started from August 2013 and enrolled over 400 children aged 14 or below to join the Red Twinkle Star membership with annual donation of HK$120. All these star members will be invited to participate in HKRC's voluntary services and various humanitarian education activities such as visiting singleton elderly, charity sales, first-aid training or puppet workshops in order to foster their positive behavior manner (e.g. how to be a good kid).
On the 4th and 5th of January, the "Red Twinkle Star" Charity Carnival cum Red Packet Charity Sales was held at the Ma On Shan Sunshine City Plaza. Over 800 parents and children enjoyed an educational afternoon with games and booths such as puppet workshops, music and dance, cappella, magic and clown shows performances. In addition, Red Packets in 2 designs by renowned illustrator Mr. Tsui Sin Tsang are on charity sales, all proceeds will be used to support the humanitarian works of HKRC.

In the Kick-Off Ceremony of the "Red Twinkle Star" Charity Carnival cum Red Packet Charity Sale, Ms. Candy Mau, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications Division of CHK presented the sponsorship cheque (HKD$300,000) to Mr. Luke Wong, Director of HKRC, on behalf of the company. |

At the Kick-off Ceremony, all star guests, Ms. Adrian Wong, Ms Leila Tong (1st and 2nd from left) and Mr. Tsui Sin Tsang (right) joined together and deposited coins that symbolize love and kindness into a giant piggy bank in the shape of the globe, as a call to foster good qualities in children for a humanitarian future. |
