Canon Hongkong participates in Hong Kong Red Cross “Red Twinkle Star Campaign 2015/2016 - Humanity Parade”

Canon Hongkong (CHK) supported the “Red Twinkle Star Campaign” as diamond sponsor for 3rd year, a moral educational program organized by Hong Kong Red Cross. It aimed to nurture children aged 14 or below the importance of humanitarian spirit and to develop their habit of helping others in daily life. In 2015/2016, with the event theme “Hero in Action”, different kinds of activities have been launched for children’s participation since the kick off ceremony in last August.

One of the biggest outreach activities was “Humanity Parade” has been staged on 5th March at the space in front of The Hong Kong Observation Wheel.  Over thousands of children together with their parent, joined the Parade and walked 2km along Central & Western District Promenade. Winners of the “Humanity Hero Flag Design Competition”, were holding their self-design flags in the Parade so as to help disseminate the spirit of humanity.

Apart from the Humanity Parade, there was also Charity Carnival setting up with fun booths, balloon-made maze, clown performance & smiling face painting. As the Diamond Sponsor of the campaign, CHK added joy by providing instant photo shoot & print service for children. A total of 266 4R photos were printed in 3 hours time and HK$9,446 has been raised from the Carnival.

About Red Twinkle Star Campaign
Since its launch in 2013, it aims to cultivate the spirit of humanity from childhood and encourage children to develop the habit of practicing good in daily life. Over 3,200 children aged 14 or below become members of “Red Twinkle Star”. Members can join a rich line-up of parent-child activities throughout the year, such as visiting singleton elderly, charity sales, humanity experience camp, first aid training and trip to the disaster affected area.

Leading by the Hong Kong Red Cross Uniformed Group, over thousands of children and parent walked along Central & Western District Promenade to perform the Humanity Parade.


CHK set up the “Instant Photo Shoot & Print Booth” to provide the free 4R photo shoot & print service onsite which was mostly welcomed by children and parents.
