EOS Camera Strap Collection – HK8logy
Traveling through a vibrant city of fascination
With a unique perspective

Canon EOS keeps delighting its discerning customers with high quality accessories that are designed with sophistication. In collaboration with the renowned Kan & Lau Design Consultants, Canon introduces a new series of strap named "HK8logy" to salute the beautiful city we live in. 8 symbolizes wealth, prosperity, auspiciousness as well as a sense of curiosity in Cantonese folk culture, and "HK8logy" is designed to feature the unique culture of the territory from different aspects like local history, traditions, culture and arts, tapping the pulse of the city's dynamic cultural inheritance.

To savor Hong Kong's unique local cultural identity then and now, photography enthusiasts is dedicated to capturing a piece of Hong Kong through their lenses, no matter the subject is about new or old, streets or alleys, East or West, people or sceneries, all can be documented in vivid images. The "HK8logy" features four designs namely "heritageHK", "festiveHK" , "markHK" and "greenHK", each set out to travel around with EOS users to record their own special Hong Kong :

"heritageHK" showcases the community's famous streets : Lan Kwai Fong, Wing Lee Street, Boundary Street, Temple Street, Hollywood Road and Nathan Road, all perpetuate the sense of nostalgia at the territorial level.

"festiveHK" was inspired by Hong Kong's landmarks. With Clock Tower, Space Museum, Star Ferry Pier, Bank Tower, Giant Buddha and theme parks embroidered into a colorful background, the strap is a tapestry of charming cultural exchanges between East and West.

"markHK" accentuates the city's energetic and metropolitan lifestyle by using its railway system as the focus. A special glowing effect is added onto the camera function icons that they will shine at night.

"greenHK" sings praises of the city's biodiversity! Hong Kong's abundant flora and fauna are featured by weaving Chinese white dolphins, green sea turtles, black-headed gulls, fiddler crabs, Hong Kong newts, Romer's tree frogs, little egrets, Hong Kong orchid trees, Birdwing butterflies and black-faced spoonbill beautifully together, the strap urges people to appreciate and preserve our beautiful yet fragile ecosystem.

All straps are made with quality materials tailored for different situations. Being a responsible manufacturer, Canon leads to be the first in global to set up its own Canon Toner Cartridge Recycle Factory located in Japan, China, U.S. and France since 1990 to make sure all collected toner cartridges are utilize as reused parts in new products. Up to year 2009, Canon has reduced the use of new resources by 110,000 tons and CO2 emission by 310,000 tons. Likewise, CHK from 2008 has established Ink Cartridge Collection boxes placed in voluntary schools, shopping malls, computer centres and commercial buildings. All used cartridges collected will be delivered to factory for decomposition and recycling as materials of other products.
