PIXMA MX897 supports AirPrint™ wireless printing that makes direct wireless printing of emails, photos, documents or web pages from iOS device2 possible. Without the need to connect to a computer nor installation of any printer driver, simply submit the print job over a Wi-Fi network3 to get high quality printouts right away! While mobile phone and tablet have become a handy tool for checking emails, photos, documents or surfing on the internet, AirPrint™ wireless printing has realized a seamless and more enjoyable mobile printing experience that brings higher work efficiency and flexibility!

35-sheet Auto duplex document feeder for duplex scan/copy
PIXMA MX897 is equipped with a duplex 35-sheet auto duplex document feeder, which permits duplex copying and scanning of documents automatically. The size of MX897 is only 491 x 448 x 218 mm(WxDxH), it's small and stylish design can free up more space for storage, which is the most suitable partner for both the office and home. MX897 also embeds auto duplex printing module, which enables users to print/copy duplex documents automatically, which is specially designed to accommodate the need to SOHO users.

Multi-Function Panel and Smart Panel Design for Easy Operation

PIXMA MX897 features the new multi-function panel that can switch in response to different functions chosen – showing the number keypad for fax mode and the direction keypad for copy mode. Users can enjoy quicker and easier control with one simple pad made for multi-modes. A 3" color LCD display also allows clear display of image previews and printer operation information.

PIXMA MX897 also adopt a Smart Panel design that places all operation buttons on the printer’s top cover to ensure all control buttons and screen will not be blocked by large-size books when scanning or copying is in process. A more convenient control means enhanced work efficiency to the work place. Catering to the need of scanning or copying thick books, the printer also feature a liftable top cover that allows complete covering to effectively avoid light spillage and result in higher scan quality. This brings easier and more flexible operation to SOHO users who have particular demands in scanning thick reference design books.
 


Fax and scanned document direct save to Memory card and USB drive
Users can choose to save all in-coming faxes into memory and USB drive directly without installing drivers and software into computers. This provides users with the convenience of centralizing fax handling. PIXMA MX897 also allows users directly save scanned photos and documents as PDF and JPG files to the Memory card and USB drive for easy and time saving handling.

PIXMA MX897 feature Canon's high-performance Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology print heads. These nozzles put out precise microscopic ink droplets. FINE technology complemented by 1pl ink droplet and 9,600 x 2,400 dpi resolution guarantees the professional quality of photo prints with impressive details and vividness that ever shown on printed photo paper before.

5-color individual ink tank system with high capacity black ink for B&W document printing to reduce running cost

PIXMA MX897 incorporates a 5-color individual ink system; the photo black ink which improve the overall contrast of images, makes it possible to print photos with richer gradation and make it easier to control the printing cost. Besides, PIXMA MX897 is specially equipped with the High-Capacity document black ink for Black and White documents, which is able to save cost for mass printing. Cost can be saved more efficiently, no matter users want to print photos or documents.


Built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for network print/scan/ outgoing fax
PIXMA MX897 features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity that supports 802.11b/g/n standard for faster connection. Seamless printing and scanning function sharing among multiple computers over a high-speed wireless network can be easily achieved, ideal for sharing among the whole family.
 


Caller ID and Junk Fax Filtering function

PIXMA MX897 have included the Caller Rejection and Fax Reception Reject function, where users can refuse to receive any fax from hidden caller ID or those numbers which have not been informed or these numbers have been saved in the rejected list. This saves paper and cost by rejecting unnecessary fax automatically.
 


3" color LCD panel

PIXMA MX897 incorporates a 3" color LCD display for clear preview of the print images. Printer operation on its functions and settings is quick and easy.


Full HD movie print function*
PIXMA MX897 is equipped with an upgraded full HD Movie Print function. With the use of bundled software, users can capture high quality prints from HD movie clips taken by Canon digital compact cameras or DSLR cameras*, and the printout mages will be optimized automatically. Three new features are included: “Merges frames” function helps combine multiple clips and produce a composite of movements; “Movie clips index” with thumbnail scenes allows easy preview and image search; “Auto Frame Capturing” selects sharper and clearer frames automatically, ensuring the best possible image quality.

Auto Document Fix function

PIXMA MX897 equipped with a "Auto Document Fix" function tailored for optimizing quality for scanned documents. It delivers beautiful and easy-to-view scan results with pictures in high color reproduction in picture and sharp and clear text. "Auto Document Fix" function uses area-by-area image analysis and data correction to achieve perfect scan results. Through multiple advanced image analyses and intelligent technologies, such as color composition analysis and intensity undulating analysis, segments among text characters, pictures and background of the original can be distinguished in high accuracy. Area-by-area correction is then applied to the text and picture segments based on the analysis result. Texts are emphasized, blackened and with sharpening edge for easy reading, while the color tone and contrast of pictures are well maintained and natural-looking pictures are reproduced with dots smoothing. Together it enhances the overall quality for scanned documents.


Auto Photo Fix II function

PIXMA MX897 feature a "Auto Photo Fix II" function which equips with a scene categorization system that can automatically recognize the type of image and adopt the optimal correction based on the five shooting modes such as portrait, scenery, night scenery, snapshot (scenery) and snapshot (night scenery). This new function now offers intelligent Multi-zone Exposure Correction to get the best results from pictures that have been less than ideally exposed, by multi-zoning areas in an image which are under exposed and correct each zone independently. It then returns the original images to the most natural and ideal appearance.

A new white balance correction function is also included for better color cast correction. Bright and natural skin color can be expected in portrait images.


Built-in PictBridge direct print and optional Bluetooth unit for wireless printing

The PictBridge function of the MX897 allows photo printing directly from Canon digital cameras or video camcorders. Photos can be printed directly without using a PC and allow users to experience the joy of printing and have Canon's "Enjoy Photo – Shoot．Print．Share" comes true. Furthermore, the printers support an optional Bluetooth module BU-30 for wireless printing of photos or documents from mobile devices without wire connections, providing more flexible printing solutions.
