Notice of Error Correction in Instruction Manual (Regarding Use of Filter)

Thank you for using Canon products.

There is an error in the instruction manual for the “Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II” which was released in May 2014. This notice conveys the details of the error and the correct information.

We offer our most sincere apologies to affected customers.

Details of the Error

The error was in column (2) of the “Filter Compatibility” table on page 17 of the instruction manual.
The MR-14EX II is not usable with the following lenses if a filter is attached to the front of the lens (filter thread)
- EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
- MP-E65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro Photo

*1: The lens cannot be used with a filter, since focusing is interrupted by an attached filter touching the front of the lens. Also filter may be damaged or the lens malfunction may result.
*2: Attach a filter to the front of the lens before attaching Macrolite Adapter (p.16) to the front part of the filter. If attached since Macrolite Adapter cannot be attached. Note that if the flash unit is attached after a filter and Macrolite Adapter are attached to the front of the lens, the periphery of the photo may look darker.
