A host of innovative features can be found in EOS 5D Mark III, thanks to the power of DIGIC 5+ digital image processor. With the new Multiple Exposures function, 2 to 9 images can be superimposed to achieve the desired multiple-exposed effect. It offers 4 exposure control types and 2 shooting methods to cater for different needs. EOS 5D Mark III is also the first EOS camera to have included the HDR (High Dynamic Range) Mode built-in with 5 HDR image effects. 3 images with different exposure settings will be captured simultaneously and then merged into a HDR image in which detail in both blown-out highlights and shadowed areas are retained. Receiving high acclaims from the motion picture production industry, the EOS Movie is made even better in EOS 5D Mark III. The new CMOS sensor with optimized processing results in higher movie quality with reduced moiré and noise. In addition to Full HD (1920x1080) movie shooting at selectable frames rates of 24p, 25p or 30p, the camera also supports HD (1280x720) movie recording at either 50p or 60p to meet diverse needs. In response to the industry’s demands, EOS 5D Mark III provides both IPB (Inter-frame) and ALL-I (Intra-frame) movie compressions for selection according to editing needs and file size consideration, allowing more flexibility in shooting and post-editing workflow. Unconstrained recording can now be achieved, as automatic file segregation will take place whenever the file size exceeds 4GB.*1
EOS 5D Mark III is also equipped with a new built-in headphone jack for real-time monitoring of sound recording, coupled with an external Stereo Microphone Input and real-time sound level display for easy operation.
