Course introduction
Equipped with intelligent functions, Canon PowerShot G Series digital compact camera assists the photographer to achieve the optimal images.  This popular course is designed specially for the user who is new to PowerShot G series digital compact camera. It covers the fundamentals of the digital photography theory, photo taking techniques and the operation of the camera. The student can learn the quick and easy ways to take best photos by using different setting mode, flash, and program. During the course, we will also demonstrate how to use the Canon imaging software and its application.  This course is offered in Cantonese only.

Course Outline
 Lesson 1 -
Camera operation (3 hours)
-  Basic structure of digital camera
-  Basic principles in photography and exposure e.g. operation and understanding of aperture, shutter speed, focal length and depth of field etc.
-  Shooting modes applications (P, Tv, Av, M, Auto, Portrait, Landscape, etc.)
-  Application of exposure compensation, white balance and the effect on image
-  Application of built-in and external flash
-  Application of the shooting mode, i. e. P, Tv, Av, M, etc.
-  Tips in different Shooting Scenario (Portrait, Lanscape, Night Scene, High Speed, Macro, etc.)
-  Composition technique

  Lesson 2 - Software Demonstration and photo printing with Canon photo
printer (2 hours)
-  Introduction of digital photography workflow
-  Pixel, resolutions and aspect ratio
-  Usage of different file formats (JPG vs RAW)
-  Manage, edit and export photos with ZoomBrowser
-  Photo printing with Canon PIXMA/SELPHY photo printers
-  Creating panorama image with Stitch Assist Shooting Mode and PhotoStitch

Requirement for enrolment
-  Applicants should be 18 years old or above
-  Ownership of Canon PowerShot G series digital compact camera(Product should be purchased in Hong Kong or Macau with a valid "Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd." Purchase Record Card / International Warranty Card)

Terms and Conditions
1. No refund will be made once payment is received.
2. The transfer of classes will not be accepted within 7 days prior to the commencement of the course. Students are not permitted to transfer into a different course and transfers will be subject to availability. Please note, no refund will be provided to absentee after confirmation has been made.
3. For the following extreme weather conditions, classes will be cancelled and participants will be notified of the alternative arrangements.
  • During Class
    Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is valid– Class Cancelled
    Rainstorm Black/Red Warning is Valid – Resume Normal. 

  • 2 Hours Before Class
    Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is valid– Class Cancelled
    Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is Lowered – Resume Normal
    Rainstorm Black warning is Valid– Class Cancelled
    Rainstorm Black Warning is Lowered – Resume Normal
4. If a lesson is canceled due to extreme weather condition, it will be made up later on.  Canon Institute of Creative Imaging will decide on the date and time of the make up lesson.  Any student who cannot attend the make up lesson is considered as waiving his own attendance.
5. Canon reserves the right to cancel classes due to extreme weather conditions, special circumstances and insufficient enrollments. If so, participants will be notified of the alternative arrangements.
6. Should the weather be unstable on the day of the course, Canon Institute of Creative Imaging may have special arrangement according to the enironment and weather of the day of the course. If the class is cancelled due to unstable weather, Canon Institute of Creative Imaging will notify the participants accordingly for the make up class arrangements.
7. If participants are found vandalizing school property or that of other students, behaving destructively or hinder the progress of the lesson then Canon will have the right to invalidate student's status.
8. Canon reserves the right to make any alterations to the course details when necessary without prior notice.

We suggest student to read the instruction guide before attending the class to understand the basic function of each button. Knowledge of computer and software is an advantage but not a must. Students need to bring their camera and memory card (if applicable) to attend the class. Software usage will be demonstrated by tutor
