After you have purchased your EOS digital SLR camera, you would soon find out the camera comes with a variety of free software and they are really powerful. Not just only those post-editing functions, but also functions to improve the image quality and bring your camera to a new area. Digital Photo Professional 4 (DPP 4) is a free image editing and management software released by Canon, it can let you edit Canon RAW images in a computer and retain the original Canon color at the same time.

Canon is pleased to organize a DPP 4 and EOS imaging software application workshop for EOS DSLR camera users which is conducted by our Professional representatives. This course will cover the functions and operation tips in details for the said software and you will learn the fundamental knowledge of post-editing after completing the course.

Course Outline

DPP 4 RAW Editing Software and EOS Imaging Software Application Workshop

Suitable to:

  • Users who have never shot with RAW file and beginners who are interested in post-editing.
  • Ownership of a Canon EOS camera (Product should be purchased in Hong Kong or Macau with a valid "Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd." Purchase Record Card / International Warranty Card and completed online warranty registration)

Please prepare:

  • Please bring your own laptop computer running with a 64-bit operation system (some functions are not supported by a 32-bit operation system), EOS DSLR camera and the USB cable coming with the camera.
    *Window: Windows 7(x32/x64) , Windows 8(x32/x64) , Windows 8.1(x32/x64) , Windows 10(x32/x64)
    *Mac OS X: OS X v10.10 , OS X v10.11 , macOS v10.12
  • Prior to the workshop, please install the latest version of EOS Digital Solution Disk Software first (it includes DPP 4, EOS Utility 3 and other EOS related software) and please save at least one Canon RAW file (*.CR2) in your computer. Computer and DSLR camera will not be provided during the workshop (there will be power supply, please also bring the AC adapter for your computer).

  • Digital Photo Professional 4 (DPP 4)
    • Tips and skills about DPP 4 control interface, customizing your own view screen, image management and sorting
    • DPP 4 workflow to develop Canon RAW files and learn how to adjust White balance, brightness and picture style etc to further enhance your images
    • How to improve image quality by using Digital Lens Optimizer (DLO) and various Lens Correction functions
  • EOS Utility
    • How to connect the camera to your computer by Wi-Fi/USB cable to perform related functions
    • Using your computer to remote control a EOS DSLR camera to do remote shooting
    • How to use Lens Registration Tool
  • Map Utility
    • How to use this software to browse GPS data
    • How to export GPS data to Google Earth
  • Picture Style Editor
    • How to use this software to create your own Picture Style

Terms and Conditions

  1. Participant should bring his own cameras and memory card (if applicable) to the classes.
  2. The transfer of classes will not be accepted within 7 days prior to the commencement of the course. Participant is not permitted to transfer into a different course and transfer will be subject to availability. Any participant who cannot attend the lesson is considered as waiving his own attendance. Please note, no refund will be provided to absentee after confirmation has been made.
  3. No refund will be made once payment is received.
  4. For the following extreme weather conditions, classes will be cancelled and participants will be notified of the alternative arrangements.
    • During Class
      Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is valid - Class Cancelled
      Rainstorm Black/Red Warning is Valid - Resume Normal
    • 2 Hours Before Class
      Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is valid - Class Cancelled
      Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is Lowered - Resume Normal
      Rainstorm Black warning is Valid - Class Cancelled
      Rainstorm Black Warning is Lowered - Resume Normal
  5. Should the weather be unstable on the day of the course, Canon Institute of Creative Imaging may have special arrangement according to the enironment and weather of the day of the course. If the class is cancelled due to unstable weather, Canon Institute of Creative Imaging will notify the participants accordingly for the make up class arrangements. Any student who cannot attend the make up lesson is considered as waiving his own attendance.
  6. Regarding the practical location arrangement of 2nd session outdoor pracitce, Canon Institute of Creative Imaging will decide the final location base on the weather of the day of the lesson. Practical location will change from "Kowloon Walled City Park" to "Kwun Tong Promenade" if the weather is unstable, Canon Institute of Creative Imaging will notify the participants by the morning of the day of the lesson.
  7. Canon reserves the right to cancel classes due to extreme weather conditions, special circumstances and insufficient enrollments. If so, participants will be notified of the alternative arrangements.
  8. If participants are found vandalizing school property or that of other students, behaving destructively or hinder the progress of the lesson then Canon will have the right to invalidate participant's status.
  9. Canon reserves the right to make any alterations to the course details when necessary without prior notice.
