Terms and Conditions

1.

Canon Asia Traveller Protection Programme (“ATPP”) is provided by Canon Hongkong Company Limited (“Canon”) to its customer free of charge subject the terms and conditions set out below (these “Terms and Conditions”). Upon joining ATPP, you are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility

2. ATPP is only applicable to the brand new official selected products purchased from Canon or its authorized dealers in Hong Kong and Macau (“Products”). ATPP is not applicable to any "Parallel Imports" goods.
3. Products include Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras, EOS M Digital Cameras, EOS R Digital Cameras, EF Lenses, RF Lenses, PowerShot and IXUS Digital Compact Cameras.
4. Please complete the product warranty registration and opt to become ATPP member within 30 days from the Products purchase date.
5. Your Products should be within the first 1-year from the date of purchase when they are presented at ATPP Service Center for repair services.

ATPP Coverage

6. ATPP coverage includes 12 countries and regions: Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand
7. ATPP only covers1 Products malfunctions when you use your Products in accordance with the instruction manual and operating guidelines. Damage caused by accidental damage and all circumstances listed in Clause 6 of the Terms and Conditions of Warranty are explicitly excluded from the ATPP coverage. Service Coverage 1: Repair Cost Reimbursement Service
 
Regions: Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand
 
I. For your malfunctions Products, you can pay to enjoy the repair services in Canon’s authorized service centers in the above 12 countries and regions (“ATPP Service Center”).
II. If you retain all necessary documents, you can be reimbursed the paid repair fee in Canon after completion of the relevant procedures as mentioned below.
III. Due to the fluctuation of exchange rate, there may be discrepancy between your paid repair fee and the reimbursement from Canon
IV. In order to be reimbursed, you shall file a claim by using one of the following methods within 30 working days (Monday to Sunday, public holiday excluded) from the date of Products repair:
 
 
a. Visit Canon Image Square in person to present the valid purchase record card and invoice of purchase of the Products, and repair service order and receipt of the repair issued by ATPP Service Center, and complete the ATPP reimbursement application form; or
b. Download and complete the ATPP reimbursement application form from Canon website. Send the completed claim form together with the copies of the documents stated in clause IVa by mail to Canon Image Square or by email to ciits@chk.canon.com.hk.
 
V. Your reimbursement will be paid in Hong Kong Dollars. Exchange rate is calculated based on the first day of the month you submitted your claim. Reimbursement will be issued by cheque and be mailed to you within 60 days.

Service Coverage 2: Equipment Loan Service for malfunction machine
 
Regions: Mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore
 
I. If Canon equipment breaks down while travelling in Mainland China2, Taiwan3 and Singapore, you can visit the local Canon Service Center along with malfunction machine. Upon confirmation as an ATPP member and malfunctions are covered under the Terms and Conditions of Warranty with passport shown for verification, Service Center will provide loan service (Maximum loan period is 2 weeks).
II. Service Center keep the malfunction machine until your return of the loan equipment in person before the end of your trip.

Personal Data

8. The personal data provided and collected will be used by Canon for one or more of the following purposes:
a. For notification, reimbursement, audit, record and verification of identity for ATPP;
b. For statistical and research purposes; and
  c. Any other legitimate purposes as may be required, authorized by law.
  The provision of personal data is voluntary. If you do not provide sufficient information, you may not be able to join ATPP. Canon will treat the personal data provided by you in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and with our privacy policy(https://hk.canon/en/consumer/web/privacy-policy) amended from time to time.
9. The personal data you provided are mainly for use within Canon but the information may also be disclosed by Canon to other third parties for the purposes stated above, if required.
10. You have the right to request access to and correction of your personal data under sections 18 and 22 and principle 6, schedule 1 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap.486). Canon may impose a fee for complying with a data access request.

Other Terms

12. Canon shall not be liable to you for any loss, damage, cost and expense directly or indirectly suffered by you (including but not limited to, loss of profit, loss of saving, loss of goodwill, loss of revenue or loss of contract incurred by you, whether anticipated or actual, or any special indirect or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever) or any action, claim and proceeding taken against you by any third party or parties in connection with, incidental to and consequential upon the performance of Canon or its employees or independent contractors in relation to ATPP. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, to the extent permitted by law, Canon’s total aggregate liability in contract, tort, equity or otherwise for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with ATPP shall be limited to HK$100.
13. Canon reserves the absolute right to change or cancel ATPP or all related details by means of notice published on its official website.
14. In case of any disputes, Canon shall make reasonable decision with reference to these Terms and Conditions (if applicable).
15. Any failure or delay by Canon to exercise or enforce any right under these Terms and Conditions shall not be deemed to be a waiver of that right nor operate to bar the exercise or enforcement of it at any time or times thereafter.
16. The provisions contained in each clause of these Terms and Conditions shall be enforceable independently of each of the others and its validity shall not be affected if any of the others is invalid. In the event any provision of these Terms and Conditions is determined to be illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall not be affected.
17. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and interpreted by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Courts in connection with any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
18. These Terms and Conditions are prepared in English and the Chinese translation is provided for reference only. In case for any inconsistency or ambiguity, the English version shall prevail.
