Overlooking Discovery Bay from Lo Fu Tau Country Trail
Located in the Northeast of Lantau Island near Discovery Bay, Lo Fu Tau is named because of a giant stone on the top of the hill resembling the shape of a tiger’s head. A walk from Discovery Bay to Mui Wo Pier via Lo Fu Tau takes approximately 2.5 hours, and along the trail are panoramic views of Discovery Bay, grass fields and interesting giant stones overspreading the mountain. If you come in December, you can even enjoy stunning golden scenery of autumn. This is a great destination for both hiking and photography.

We are almost there at Mui Wo after passing the waterfall. It takes about half an hour to follow the signs and walk to the pier. Be aware that the ferry runs infrequently at every 20-30 minutes. So check the ferry schedule, relax and wind down. Take a rest by the pier and let the breeze blow away the tiredness before the next ferry comes.
