HONG KONG, Sept. 8 -- Big applause was given to Canon's first-in-market invention of five-color digital printing system — partial or full coating to its color digital printing system in the imagePRESS C1+ "The New Fifth Element Premiere" on 4th of September, 2009 at the ZAZA Lounge Bar & Club, Tsim Sha Tsui.

In the opening of the premiere, Mr. Kevin Kobayashi, President & CEO of Canon Hong Kong Company Limited (CHK) and Mr. Raymond Fung, Vice President of Business Imaging Solution Group from CHK mentioned that imagePRESS C1+ has created a new era of digital printing with its capability of coating effects. Also, imagePRESS C1+ adopts avant-garde technology in processing visual textures which enables Creative-Pros to demonstrate their creativity by visual effects and realise their design concepts.

Over a hundred and twenty guests from various industries of creative color needs and industry has participated in this premiere. Partners invited to share Canon’s success in digital printing included Polytrade Paper Corporation Limited, Fingerprint Limited, Graphic Arts Association Hong Kong (GAAHK), Adobe Systems Hong Kong Ltd and X-rite Asia Pacific Limited. Power user, Mr. Sammy Lau, Creative Director of Dentsu China Limited, was also been invited to share his company’s successful experience in adopting imagePRESS C1+ in their production.

First-in-market coating effects maximize printing quality
The first-in-market five-color digital printing system of imagePRESS C1+ is a breakthrough to the tradition four-color printing systems with its new fifth element — Clear Toner. Partial or full coating can be created on the printouts to maximize the contrasts and promote creations without limits.

Mr. Sammy Lau, Creative Director of Dentsu China Limited also shared proven success of imagePRESS C1+ in practice, "imagePRESS C1+ has fulfilled our needs on digital printing. Color and image quality produced have been very accurate and professional, and close to the quality of offset printing. It also supports different kinds of fancy paper e.g. pearl card stock, wooden paper and cloth paper, and paper of various thickness, to cope with our wide range of design needs. On the application of digital printing and the powerful functionality of imagePRESS C1+ by Mr. Vincent Leung, Marketing Executive, BIS —Production & Graphics Arts Department from CHK shared the latest trend and versatile application of digital printing on text books, in-flight magazines, marketing collaterals, wedding albums, name cards and calendars, etc. He also explained the capability of imagePRESS C1+ to print with watermarks effect, avoiding unauthorized duplication and in turns improves document security.

Last but not least, guests of the premiere experienced the powerful color digital printing system with transparent coating and were impressed by print samples wedding albums, posters, invitation cards, text books, etc
