Other Requirements: This course includes practical exercises, participants are required to bring their own EOS R Camera and lens. A lens with a focal range of 24–70mm is recommended, and using a prime lens will yield even better results.

Professional Portrait Photographer – Cherry Wong
Born in Hong Kong, Cherry Wong was captivated by the glamorous Hollywood photos of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn when she was young. She started with slide photography and later transitioned into digital photography at York University in Canada. Dedicated portrait photographer and educator with over a decade of experience. Her mission is to help everyday people feel beautiful and confident in their authentic selves. Her photographic philosophy revolves around observing the subtle dance between light and shadow.

 


Terms and Conditions

 

 

  1. We welcome your participation in the Event. Your participation is completely voluntary. Please read these terms and conditions of the Event (this “Agreement”) carefully. For the purpose of this Agreement, “Participant(s)” and “you” are used interchangeably. Upon registering for the Event, and/or participating in the Event, you shall be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to this Agreement.

    Personal Data
  2. Upon registering for the Event and/or participating in the Event, you acknowledge and agree to the collection, use, storage, transfer and/or processing of your personal data by Canon (and/or through its service provider(s)) for the purpose of the Event, and/or for following up with your requests related to the Event. Any personal data involved is limited to the Participant’s name, contact number, email address and/or any other reasonable personal data for the sole purpose of the Event.
  3. Participants’ personal data collected will be used by Canon (and/or through its service provider(s)) for one or more of the following purposes:
    (i)  For statistical and analytical purposes;
    (ii) For confirming, notifying and following up with the Participants’ registration, dealing with the Participants’ enquiries, keeping record, confirming and/or updating the Event’s arrangement and verifying the Participants’ identity;
    (iii) For creation, processing and maintenance of the Participant’s participation record for the administration and monitoring of the Event;
    (iv) Where you have opted in for our direct marketing messages and promotional materials, for sending you information relating to our consumer imaging and information products and services and business imaging solutions and production printing products and/or services; and
    (v) Any other legitimate purposes as may be required or authorized under the applicable law.
  4. Your participation in the Event and your agreement to our collection, use, storage, transfer and/or processing of any of personal data is voluntary and independent.  If Participants do not provide sufficient information, Participants may not be able to participate in the Event. Canon will process any personal data provided by the Participants in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and with Canon’s Privacy Policy as may be amended from time to time. For details, please refer to Canon’s Privacy Policy (https://hk.canon/en/consumer/web/privacy-policy).
  5. Any personal data provided to us may be processed, accessed, stored and/or transferred outside Hong Kong and/or to our affiliates or third-party service providers including but not limited to cloud server providers situated outside Hong Kong. Such locations may offer a different level of protection of personal data. If we transfer your personal data outside Hong Kong, we will make sure to protect your personal data by applying the level of protection required under applicable data privacy laws.
  6. Canon (and/or through its service provider(s)) may take photos and/or video during the Event for record purposes and/or promotion of Canon’s future events, products and/or services. Participants consent their images to be captured in such photos and/or videos (“Photos and Videos”). Participants hereby permit Canon and/or its affiliated companies and/or service providers to use, edit, modify, reproduce, publish and/or disseminate any such Photos and Videos, by any means or in any manner, for any purposes including for Canon’s internal records, marketing, publicity, promotional or any other purposes as Canon considers appropriate, whether within or outside of Hong Kong, and on any platform that Canon thinks fit, including but not limited to Canon’s website, social media platforms (e.g. Facebook and LinkedIn) and/or other publications.

    Miscellaneous
  7. Once the registration is confirmed, all fees are non-refundable.
  8. Participants must be 18 years or older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
  9. No make-up session or refunds will be provided for absences. Canon reserves the final decision.
  10. Participation is non-transferable. Canon reserves the right to verify the identity and age of Participants on the event day.
  11. Participants must bring their own photography equipment for the practical session of the Event.
  12. In case of the unstable weather conditions, the Event will be adjusted as follows:
    • During the event:
      Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above: Immediate termination.
      Black or Red Rainstorm Warning: Proceed as usual.
    • Two hours before the event:
      If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is in effect or still in effect within two hours before the event starts – the event will be cancelled.
      If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is lowered before noon and remains lowered within two hours before the event starts – the event will proceed as scheduled.
      If the Black Rainstorm Warning is in effect or still in effect within two hours before the event starts – the event will be cancelled.
      If the Black Rainstorm Warning is lifted before noon and remains lifted within two hours before the event starts – the event will proceed as scheduled.
  13. Canon shall have the sole and absolute right towards the Event, including the right to cancel, postpone or change any details of the Event without prior notice to any parties.
  14. Canon reserves the right to cancel or adjust the Event due to adverse weather conditions, emergencies, pandemics, or insufficient participants. Participants will be notified of any changes.
  15. Canon reserves the sole and absolute right to disqualify or exclude any Participant from participating in the Event without prior notice, if the Participant:
    (i)  commits a breach of this Agreement;
    (ii) provides untruem incomplete or inconsistent personal information;
    (iii) participantes in the Event in any illegal or dishonest manner; or
    (iv) is reasonably considered by Canon to be suitable to be disqualified or exclude.
  16. Participants must follow all arrangements and instructions from Canon staff during the Event. Canon reserves the right to cancel participation without refund for any disruptive, obstructive, harmful behaviour or non-compliance with safety and/or other regulations during the Event.
  17. Canon is not responsible for and shall not be liable for any loss caused by any problems or technical malfunction of communication network or computer software or hardware, malfunction of internet and/or internet system; or due to any mistake made or actions by the Participant during the online registration or the Event. Participants should check system requirements in advance.
  18. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the time Canon’s server receives the submission. Late submissions are invalid.
  19. Canon shall not be liable to Participants for any loss, damage, cost and expense directly or indirectly suffered by Participants (including but not limited to, loss of profit, loss of saving, loss of goodwill, loss of revenue or loss of contract, whether anticipated or actual, or any special indirect or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever) or any action, claim and proceeding taken against Participants by any third party or parties in connection with, incidental to and consequential upon the performance of Canon, its employees, independent contractors and/or partners in relation to the Event.  Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, to the extent permitted by law, Canon’s total aggregate liability in contract, tort, equity or otherwise for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Event shall be limited to HK$100.
  20. In case of any disputes, Canon reserves the right of final decision.
  21. Canon reserves the right to amend, delete, supplement and interpret this Agreement from time to time.
  22. Any failure or delay by Canon to exercise or enforce any right under this Agreement shall not be deemed to be a waiver of that right nor operate to bar the exercise or enforcement of it at any time or times thereafter.
  23. Each provision of this Agreement shall be enforceable independently of each of the others and its validity shall not be affected if any of the others is invalid.  In the event any provision of this Agreement is determined to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall not be affected.
  24. A person who is not a Participant in the Event has no right at law to enforce any provision of this Agreement.
  25. This Agreement shall be governed and interpreted by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (“Hong Kong”).  Participants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Courts in connection with any disputes arising from or in connection with this Agreement.
  26. This Agreement is prepared in English and the Chinese translation is provided for reference only. In case of any inconsistency or ambiguity, the English version shall prevail.
