The "Amazing Hong Kong — Canon Digital Photobook & Poster Exhibition" is being held at the ocean terminal main concourse of Harbour City. The grand opening ceremony of the event was held on September 1, 2010.
Course Outline
| Featuring cross-sector cooperation, digital photography and digital printing, the exhibition is a first-of-its-kind event in Hong Kong. It is organized by Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. with Hong Kong Printing Resources Centre being the assisting organizer. It has brought together 26 leaders of local printing industry to communicate the theme "Amazing Hong Kong" by capturing dynamic and positive images of Hong Kong through digital camera so as to express the Hong Kong spirit of optimism and the appeal of joy. | |||||||||||
| The 26 participants of the "Amazing Hong Kong — Canon Digital Photobook & Poster Exhibition" are leaders of printing companies of all sizes. The participants have taken close to 3,000 photographs with digital camera, out of which 120 have been selected by event's instructors and judges for printing into a digital photobook with Canon imagePRESS C7000VP color digital printing system. The images in this photobook richly express the optimistic character of the people of Hong Kong, giving out positive energies to cheer up all those in touch with them. It was delighted that the charity sale of the photobook has successfully raised HK$110,000. All the proceeds will be donated to Wai Yin Association for charitable causes in education. All the exhibited works are printed with Canon imagePROGRAF large format printer. | |||||||||||
| At the Grand Opening Ceremony of the "Amazing Hong Kong — Canon Digital Photobook & Poster Exhibition", Mr. Kevin Kobayashi, President & CEO of Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. remarked that the theme of "Amazing Hong Kong", which centers on "happiness and joy", is aligned with Canon's corporate message that both aim to remind us to overcome challenges with a positive attitude. Mr. Kobayashi also explained that Canon took pleasure in having Wai Yin Association as the recipient of the proceeds of the charity sale. This is because Wai Yin Association shared the helping the needy, a mission in line with Canon's corporate philosophy of "kyosei", which means "All people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future." | |||||||||||
