In September 2015, Canon Hongkong (CHK) was successfully verified by SGS, a third-party certification organization, for its greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting practices of Year 2013 and 2014 against ISO 14064-1:2006, which is an international standard regarding the quantification and reporting of GHG emissions and removals at the organizational level.

The increase in GHG emissions has been accelerating the situation of global warming, resulting adverse climate changes which are influencing the global population. As a demonstration of its excellent corporate citizenship, CHK is committed to managing and reducing GHG generated during its operations. The carbon accounting and reporting against ISO 14064-1:2006 international standard ensures the appropriateness of CHK’s methodology in GHG quantification as well as the credibility of its GHG inventory report, from which we are able to further and precisely understand GHG emissions from an array of our business operations.  Such insights will certainly allow us to continuously identify GHG reduction opportunities from different aspects, and hence to realize CHK’s environmental vision.
