In line with Canon’s corporate philosophy “Kyosei”, Canon Hongkong (CHK) has been dedicating its unrelenting efforts in environmental conservations works.  In 2015, CHK volunteered to join the “Green Mission” project organized by the Friends of the Earth (FOE) and being awarded Gold and Silver grading in “Save Resources Mission” and “Save Energy Mission” respectively. The recognition again represents the positive contributions from CHK and its staff towards our environment.

The program has been divided into three categories, “Save Resources Mission”, “Save Energy Mission” and “Save Water Mission”, to encourage participating members to use their resources, energy and water wisely and efficiently.  The awarded gradings are based on comparison data from 2015 against 2014 of each individual company.

In “Save Resources Mission”, CHK achieve the Gold grading by reducing the overall usage in paper, ink cartridges and laser cartridges. In “Save Energy Mission”, CHK reduced the total power consumption in all CHK offices, achieving a Silver grading.

In order to achieve the target mission, CHK staffs took different measure to achieve these good results, for example,

Utilizing energy-efficient T5 tubes and LED lightings and disconnecting excessive lightings as identified in workplace lighting assessment.
