Canon Photo Marathon 2011

The most exciting and renowned annual photography competition in HK
Enrollment will begin on 22 August!

(Hong Kong, 19 August 2011) Organized by Canon Hongkong Company Limited (CHK), the annual photography competition - Canon Photo Marathon (CPM) 2011 is coming back on 2 October at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). This overwhelming competition of Hong Kong’s first ever Canon Photo Marathon since 2009 challenges both amateur and professional photographers’ creativity, endurance and photographic skills.

The competition this year is a bigger and more challenging competition for photography lovers. To facilitate participants having better plans for photo marathon competition, photo taking time for each theme has been extended to 2.5 hours, and total 3 themes to complete the marathon.

Participants are required to return back to HKCEC for stamp check point by completing each theme and summit a total of 6 photos for 3 themes to challenge for the grand prize – round trip air ticket to Japan for 2 travellers, and the total value of all prizes worth more than HK$140,000.Upon completion of the 11 hours marathon, each participant will be awarded with an acknowledging certificate and a Canon EOS 7D Miniature USB.

CPM 2011 enrollment period is 22 to 31 August. If the number of enrollment exceeds the maximum quota, 800 participants will be selected by the organizer randomly. Selected participants are required pay for the HK$100 entry fee in 3 days to be eligible for the competition. CHK will donate all enrollment fees to WWF-Hong Kong in supporting their conservation and education work.

Up to-date, Canon has reduced the use of new resources by 150,000 tons and CO2 emission by 370,000 tons. Likewise, CHK from 2009 has established Ink Cartridge Collection boxes placed in voluntary schools, shopping malls, commercial centers and commercial buildings to collect used cartridges for recycling purpose.
